Lose Weight for Better Sleep


The importance of sleep cannot be underestimated.  Scientifically it has been proven that man spends a good percentage of his time on earth sleeping. Sleep is of important since it is the time in which the essential body activities take place. It is the time in which the brain gets ample time for development, the excretory organs are able to remove toxins from the body and the tissue repair of damage tissues takes place. This is the time in which the lactic acid that has accumulated from the muscles is removed. That is why when you wake up in the morning you feel fresh compared to how you were feeling yesterday. If you do not get enough sleep most likely you will notice your speech being impaired, and have memory lapse due to poor brain development. You will also feel very tired since the lactic acid that has accumulated in the muscles has not been removed.
There are specific cases that man might desire to sleep or get better sleep but it is not possible. This might be of the activities that you have been undertaking and have had an effect on the body and has disrupted the normal sleeping pattern of that person. During this time, man is most likely going to develop a condition known as insomnia. Insomnia is a condition in which a person does not get any sleep or if he gets some sleep, it is not better sleep
Insomnia can result from different issues. The food a person eats can lead to insomnia. For example drinking coffee or tea before going to bed can increase the alertness of the brain causing sleep to become a problem. Frequent use of tea or coffee before bedtime can easily lead to insomnia. Stress and depression can also lead to insomnia. It is not easy for a person to sleep especially if one is stressed. Since the brain is alert and thinking about the issues that are disturbing this person, most likely the person will find sleeping very uncomfortable. If the person manages to sleep, he/she will be disrupted with nightmares which lead to poor sleep quality hence insomnia. There are various ways you can be able to overcome insomnia. Use of sleeping herbs such as oat straw and medical marijuana can encourage sleeping. Use of sleeping pills can also help but may lead to addiction. You can be able to use music therapy by listening to sleep music. It might also help to some extent.
The best way to overcome insomnia is by tackling the problem head on. The problem might be arising from you excess weight. Most people experience insomnia because of the complications arising from excess weight. When you have excess weight, most of the times one develops breathing problems. This might be due to accumulation of fat all over the body. The stress subjected on other body organs can also lead to insomnia. If the body is not comfortable it will subject the brain to stress. Since the brain is an important organ in relation to sleep, it will not be easy for you to get sleep.
In order to deal with excess weight so that you can overcome insomnia and improve your sleep, you have to lose weight and use natural sleep aids. Lose of weight is not a hard task; there are different weight loss diets that you can be able to use to cut down on weight. Most people tend to assume when it comes to losing weight you have to avoid eating especially before going to bed. The truth is the body has different hormones that are able to check the energy levels on the body. If you sleep without eating any food, you will have to wake up and grab something to eat in order to restore the energy levels to normal.
The best thing is to engage in proper weight loss diet. Visit a dietician to give you guidance on how to eat if you want to lose weight. Most likely he/she will advise on fruits and vegetables frequently with a lot of water. You will also have to exercise frequently if you want to lose considerable weight after a very short time.
If you want to improve your sleep, you better lose weight. Having the right weight according to body mass index will help you avoid breathing problems and subjecting the entire body to stress which can easily lead to insomnia.
